Both options include delivery to your own USB flash drive or external drive, or a cloud download. A USB drive supplied by us, a Blu-ray disc, shipping, tape cleaning, repairs and additional formats are priced by agreement. No additional work is carried out without your approval.
Files ready to watch and keep in your own archive. File preparation and delivery work the same way with the PLN 70 and PLN 200 services.
Each cassette becomes a separate MP4 file with AVC/H.264 video. Additional archival formats can be arranged separately.
We trim empty sections at the beginning and end of the tape so your finished file contains the actual recording.
File names use your unique order ID. For orders with multiple tapes, we add the cassette number so each file can be matched to its original.
Our picture restoration workflow in AviSynth uses video filters individually adjusted to each recording. We do not use artificial intelligence or generative models to invent faces, textures or details missing from the recording.
We adjust the colour, reduce noise and picture defects, improve motion rendering and apply controlled sharpening to the material captured from the tape. The aim is a natural picture that stays faithful to the source.
The final result depends on the condition of the tape and the original recording. Restoration cannot recover information that was never recorded or has been irretrievably lost.
JVC and Panasonic S-VHS decks, time-base correction (TBC) and lossless HuffYUV capture provide the working material for restoration. Processing takes place on a digital copy.
The PLN 70 option includes basic picture correction, basic audio level adjustment and an MP4 AVC/H.264 file. The PLN 200 option adds full picture restoration with a tailored AviSynth workflow and professional audio processing.
The PLN 200 service reduces tape hiss, hum and clicks, improves speech clarity and levels the volume. We use professional audio restoration tools in the same class as iZotope RX. We adapt processing to each recording, taking care to preserve natural voices. The degree of improvement depends on the quality of the recorded sound.
